motivation
Motivation. It’s typically coined #mondaymotivation, yet I need motivation every single day. Starting my day right helps. If it starts well, I gain motivation. If it doesn’t, I tend to lose momentum.
It’s the beginning of the week. Each day, think about what uplifts you and motivates you to start your day reaching and moving towards your goals. Try this…
The night before, take 5 minutes to think about three things you want to get done the next day. Write them down. There is the max. Long lists never help anyone. Long lists are discouraging and reminders of what you didn’t do.
In the morning, when you first awake, read your list from the night before. Then take 5 minutes to read or listen to an uplifting book or podcast to empower yourself for the day.
Finally take 5 minutes to exercise, get your blood pumping. This isn’t your workout for the day, but it gets you in the active mindset and those endorphins going. Do some calisthenics, hold a plank for 15 seconds longer than you did yesterday, or even shadowbox.
I’m not perfect. I’m not motivated every day. Perfectly imperfect is ok. Find what works for you and commit to doing it daily. If you fail, it means you tried. Keep going.
What do you do to motivate yourself?
